Would these work as leather stamps? And if so, can you make a cutter that's all flat, instead of the outer rim being raised?

After this was requested a couple times before, I decided to try this, and I'd have to say that the answer is mostly 'no'.

It did "sort of" work, but in the process of hammering it into the leather to leave an impression, the cutter was badly cracked, and couldn't be used again for a second stamping. 

They're simply not strong and durable enough to be used in leather working.
